There is prescient line in Freud’s 1903 book that reads: “Man has … become a kind of Prosthetic God. When he puts on all his auxiliary organs he is truly magnificent; but those organs have not grown on to him and they still give him much trouble at times.”

Humans gravitate to technology and solutioning that can make them smarter, faster, more effective … but the challenge we face if how to design these innovations to drive adoption. How can we make smart devices that make us “magnificent” and do not end as a desktop paper weight because it gave us “much trouble”?

The challenge we face in in 2020 is how we can practically create seamless, intuitive technology.
